build your faction bases far away from the spawn though so when 1.8 comes out i can reload the chunks. That way 1.8 map features will appear. (NPC villages, ravines, strongholds) The server is still not 24/7.

ill just sum it up very briefly here:
you start out with no spells at all. you have to LEARN spells from tomes that can teach you spells. Tomes are special books/bookshelves. Once you learn the spell you can cast it without the tome. type /cast [spellname] to cast it. or you can use a wand stick/goldsword/goldboot. spells cost a selected amount of redstone to cast. …
